<br />a called meeting of August 7, 1989; minutes the Public Hearing of

<br />minutes of a regular meeting of August 8, }989; and minutes of a
<br />special called meeting of August 9, 1989, to be approved as
<br />received, and was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br />REPORTS FROM THE CITY MANAGER -
<br />
<br />89-340 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of
<br />ordinance to amend the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />1988, by amending Section 32-29 thereof, pertaining to barbwire
<br />fences.
<br />
<br /> "As you are aware, in recent months there has been
<br />considerable discussion as it relates to the use of barbed wire
<br />fencing within the City. In an effort to clarify and to provide
<br />uniformity throughout the City~ the City's law office, working
<br />with the Planning Department, Public Works and Environmental
<br />Services developed the attached language for amending the City
<br />Code.
<br />
<br />I, therefore, recommend City Council's approval."
