The required 50% local <br />match will be through in-kind contributions provided by the <br />PARC Place and~HER Shelters. <br /> <br /> I recommend approval of the funds and the transfer of <br /> $25,000 from the'Grants Contingency AccOunt to support the <br /> two programs~'~ ' ' <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Simpson, to <br /> approve and transfer $25,000 from the Grants Contingency Account <br /> to support the PARC ;a:nd HER Shelters ;;aslrequested and was <br /> adopted by unanimous ~vote. :, <br /> <br />89-372 Letter from the City Manage;r recommending adoption of <br />a motion to transfer $109,996.24 from the Grants Contingency <br />Account and to authorize the FY 1990 Virginia Fire Services <br />Program grant. <br /> <br /> "I am pleased'~tO~'inform you tha~ ~he Virginia Fire <br />Services Boffrd~-has awarded the City of Portsmouth a grant of <br />$109,996.24. The grant which requires'no local match will <br />provide resources for improving fire service operations for the <br />citizens of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> I recommend approval of the project and the transfer~of <br />$109,996.24'fromrthe'Grants Contingency Account to support~the <br />program." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Barnes, to <br />accept Fiscal Year 1990 Virginia Fire Services Program grant of <br />$109,996.24 and to transfer $109,996.24 from the Grants <br />Contingency Account to support the program as requested and was <br />adopted as requested by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />89-373 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />a motion to'transfer $17,000 from~the Grants Contingency Account <br />to pay the required.loan fee of $16,600 for the exhibit <br />"FUTURESIG~T". ' <br /> <br /> "The Business Consortium for the Arts Support in Norfolk, <br />Virginia has awarded the Portsmouth Museums $17,000 for general <br />operating support for 1989. This grant represents corporate <br />giving and requires no local matching funds. In the past, <br />proceeds from these allocations have been utilized to offset the <br />expenditures incurred by presenting major exhibits. <br /> <br /> With your approval, this year's allocation will provide <br />the cost of the loan fee ($16,600) Eor an exhibit entitled <br />"FUTURESIGHT: INNOVATIONS IN ART HOLOGRAPHY" which has been <br />organized'by the Museum of Holography, New York, New York. The <br />exhibit is s~heduled to appear in the 1846 Courthouse Gallery <br />December 9, 1989 through February. 4, 1990. <br /> <br /> I recommend your approval of this project and the transfer <br />of $17,000 from the grants contingency fund to support this <br />exhibit." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Hawks and seccnded by Mr. Gray, to <br />transfer $17,000 from the Grants Contingency Account to support <br />the exhibit "FUTURESIGHT" and approve the acceptance of a <br />$17,000 grant from the Business Consortium for the Arts Support <br />to provide the cost of the loan fee for the exhibit as <br />requested, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
