December 8. 2009 WHEREAS, the City Council desires to declare that an amount of public utility general obligation bonds and notes not to exceed $17,660,000 are expected to be issued for the water and sewer projects encompassed by Projects (the "Public Utility Projects"). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA: 1. That it is the intent of the City to make certain expenditures in connection with the planning, design, acquisition, construction, and equipping of the Public Utility Projects which the City reasonably expects to be reimbursed as permitted by Section 1.150-2 of the regulations pursuant to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, from the proceeds of one or more issues of bonds issued to fund the Public Utility Projects. As of the date of this Resolution, the maximum projected amount of public utility general obligation bonds and notes to be issued is not expected to exceed $17,660,000. 2. That this resolution shall take effect on the date of its adoption." The Portsmouth City Council normally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, and the Monday prior to the second and fourth Tuesday regular meeting, except during the month of December where they meet on the second Tuesday and the Monday prior. Discussion: . This action would allow the City Council to give advance notification to the citizens, media, and city departments of the 2010 meeting schedule. Financial Impact: . The City Clerk will post the 2010 Meeting Calendar on the City's webpage and provide to the general public. Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to accept the 2010 Meeting Calendar of the City Council, and was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley Nays: None - New Business - 09 - 619 - Boards and Commissions Mr. Moody offered the following nominations: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITYIPPIC Aaron Kelley to be appointed to fill a four year term ending December 31, 2013, replacing Herbert Haneman.
