<br />December 8. 2009 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to declare that an amount of public utility <br />general obligation bonds and notes not to exceed $17,660,000 are expected to be <br />issued for the water and sewer projects encompassed by Projects (the "Public Utility <br />Projects"). <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA: <br /> <br />1. That it is the intent of the City to make certain expenditures in connection <br />with the planning, design, acquisition, construction, and equipping of the Public Utility <br />Projects which the City reasonably expects to be reimbursed as permitted by Section <br />1.150-2 of the regulations pursuant to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, <br />from the proceeds of one or more issues of bonds issued to fund the Public Utility <br />Projects. As of the date of this Resolution, the maximum projected amount of public <br />utility general obligation bonds and notes to be issued is not expected to exceed <br />$17,660,000. <br /> <br />2. That this resolution shall take effect on the date of its adoption." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />09 - 618 - Adoption of a motion accepting the 2010 Calendar of City Council Meetings. <br />Vision Principle: Bold New Directions. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. The Portsmouth City Council normally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday <br />of each month, and the Monday prior to the second and fourth Tuesday regular <br />meeting, except during the month of December where they meet on the second <br />Tuesday and the Monday prior. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. This action would allow the City Council to give advance notification to the <br />citizens, media, and city departments of the 2010 meeting schedule. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />. There is no financial impact. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br />. Adoption of a motion. Vision Principles: Bold New Directions. <br /> <br />Next Steps following City Council Action: <br />.
