<br />November 10. 2009 <br /> <br />"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A MUTUAL <br />AID AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF HAMPTON FOR FIRE FIGHTING AND <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the <br />City Manager is authorized and directed to sign a Fire Fighting and Emergency Medical <br />Services Mutual Aid Agreement that is substantially the same as the one attached to <br />this resolution and identified as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be effective upon the date <br />of its adoption." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />09 - 574 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />There were no appointments. <br /> <br />09 - 575 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />There were no items submitted. <br /> <br />09 - 576 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />. Bernadette Hogge, Ombudsman, gave an update on items of concern presented by <br />citizens at the October 27,2009 City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />09 - 577 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 2713 Sterling Point Drive, asked that changes be made to <br />the City Charter. <br /> <br />2. Martha Ann Creecy, 317 Dinwiddie Street, brought to City Council's attention <br />overgrowth on High Street past Siesta Gardens which prohibits walking or bicycling <br />in that area. <br /> <br />3. John Fenter, 909 W. Ferry Plantation Road, Virginia Beach, brought to City Council's <br />attention an existing City ordinance that is in violation of State code. <br /> <br />4. John Willis, 2240 Tarrallton Drive, Norfolk, spoke in opposition to the Mayor being a <br />member of the Mayor's Against Illegal Guns (MAIG). <br /> <br />5. Kaye Tice, 2217 Branch Drive, Chesapeake, spoke in support of the Mayor being a <br />member of MAIG. <br /> <br />6. Clyde Toler, 1029 Blair Street, thanked the City Council for all they have done for the <br />citizens of Portsmouth and also asked that the City recognize veterans on Veterans <br />Day. <br /> <br />7. Phillip Van Cleave, 5509 West Bay Court, Midlothian, spoke in opposition to the <br />Mayor being a member of MAIG. <br /> <br />8. Kim Lewandowski, 147 Florida Avenue, spoke in support of the Mayor being a <br />member of MAIG. <br /> <br />9. Terry Danaher, 413 Dinwiddie Street, thanked those that helped with the Schooner <br />Day's Race. <br />
