<br />AUQust 11. 2009 <br /> <br />David Warren to be reappointed to fill a three year term ending October 31,2012. <br /> <br />Kathleen Werneke to be reappointed to fill a three year term ending October 31, 2012. <br /> <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />James Spagnuolo to be appointed to fill a term ending June 30, 2010, replacing Heather <br />Bright. <br /> <br />PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT & HOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> <br />Joseph Haskell to be appointed to fill a four year term ending August 31, 2013, <br />replacing Joe Fleming. <br /> <br />SOUTHEASTERN ALCOHOL SAFETY ACTION PROGRAM <br /> <br />Bentley Harrell to be reappointed to fill a three year term ending September 12, 2012. <br /> <br />SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT BOARD <br /> <br />Russell Bailey, Jr. to be appointed to fill a four year term ending September 30, 2013, <br />replacing Aldora Hatcher. <br /> <br />Sheila Campbell to be appointed to fill a four year term ending September 30, 2013, <br />replacing Sara Brown. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to close nominations, and <br />the above nominations were adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />09 - 424 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />'" Ms. Randall offered the following statement: <br /> <br />"Mr. Mayor, I would like to make a state concerning my plans for official travel. <br /> <br />Like all my fellow Council Members, I have significantly cut back on professional travel, <br />in order to respect the legitimate concerns of Portsmouth taxpayers during these difficult <br />economic times. <br /> <br />There are two conferences coming up which I do plan to attend, because I believe my <br />attendance will ultimately benefit Portsmouth and its citizens. These conferences are <br />Virginia Municipal League Annual Conference and National League of Cities Annual <br />Conference. <br /> <br />I wish to state at this time that I will be paying my own travel expenses for these <br />conferences. " <br /> <br />'" Vice Mayor Moody offered the following statement: <br /> <br />"Colleagues, <br /> <br />Recent events together with sustaining questions of judgment raise unavoidable issues <br />about the future the City can hope to realize with the Mayor's continuing leadership. <br />
