Submit completed applications to DOE. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A MUTUAL <br />AID AGREEMENT WITH THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF THE REGIONAL PUBLIC <br />SAFETY NAVY REGION MID-ATLANTIC FOR FIRE FIGHTING AND EMERGENCY <br />MEDICAL SERVICES. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the <br />City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sign a Mutual Aid Agreement with the <br />Program Director of the Regional Public Safety Navy Region Mid-Atlantic for fire fighting <br />and emergency medical services, and that said Agreement be substantially the same as <br />the one attached to this resolution and identified as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be effective upon the date <br />of its adoption." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Randall, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />09 - 346 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />There were no appointments. <br /> <br />09 - 347 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />There were no items submitted. <br /> <br />09 - 348 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />. Margaret Thorne gave an update on the pool in Cavalier Manor. <br /> <br />. Bernadette Hogge, Ombudsman, gave an update on items of concern presented by <br />citizens at the June 9, 2009 City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />09 - 349 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Tony Goodwin, 38 Linden Avenue, voiced his opposition to the request for proposal <br />(RFP) presented to the Virginia Department of Transportation by Skanska for the <br />building and management of the Martin Luther King Memorial Freeway, and the new <br />Midtown Tunnel addition and renovations of existing tunnels. <br /> <br />2. Joe Wright, 1451 Welcome Road, asked that City Council and Staff abide by the <br />schedule to reopen the pool in Cavalier Manor. <br />
