OctOber 10, 2000 At a Called Meeting of the CitY Council on TueSday, October 10, 2000, there were present: *Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D, Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehu Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney Timothy Oksman. 00 - 245 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting Of the City Council to be held in the Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2000, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting· By order of the Mayor." 00 - 246 - The following items were discUssed in PUblic Work Session: 1. Hampton Roads Workforce Development Initiative 2. Employee Benefits 3. Graffiti Report 4. HRT "Free Ride for Voters" 00 - 247. Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to go'into Closed Meetin( pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344(A) of the Cede of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: the acquisition or sale of real property for a public purpose, as authorized by subparagraph 3. One subject property is located in the downtown waterfront area of the City, and another subject property is located in the City of Chesapeake. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote· Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting bY the City Council.
