OctOber 10, 2000 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the CitY Council on TueSday, October 10, 2000, there <br />were present: <br /> <br />*Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D, Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, <br />P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehu <br />Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />00 - 245 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting Of the City Council to be held in the <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, <br />October 10, 2000, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting· <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />00 - 246 - The following items were discUssed in PUblic Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Hampton Roads Workforce Development Initiative <br />2. Employee Benefits <br />3. Graffiti Report <br />4. HRT "Free Ride for Voters" <br /> <br />00 - 247. Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to go'into Closed Meetin( <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344(A) of the Cede of Virginia, to discuss or <br />consider the following: <br /> <br /> the acquisition or sale of real property for a public purpose, as authorized by <br />subparagraph 3. One subject property is located in the downtown waterfront area of the <br />City, and another subject property is located in the City of Chesapeake. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote· <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting bY the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by: / <br /> <br />· or H.
