<br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, the
<br />following ordinance was adopted, and by the following vote:

<br /> 90-455 - Letter from the CitylM&nager recommending
<br />adoption of a resolution appointing~ viewers for closing a
<br />portion of Water Street. ~ ~ . , ~

<br /> "The City of POrtsmouth has made application to vacate,
<br />close and' discontinue a portion of Water Street. The Notice of
<br />Application and Request for Appointment of Viewers has been
<br />advertised.
<br />
<br /> I recommend adoption of the resolution appoint-lng viewer.s
<br />for this application."

<br /> Motion of Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr, King, the
<br />following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote:

<br />"A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS~FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF
<br />WATER STREET.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, City of Portsmouth has made application~to ~
<br />Vacate, close and'~discontinue the hereinafter-described portion
<br />of Water Street, and it appearing that Notice .of Application
<br />and Request for Appointment of Viewers has been advertised as
<br />required by law.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
<br />of PortsmOuth, Virginia, that Roy Leinart, Charles Hudgins,
<br />Robert Reed, Harrison Miller, and Moses Gibson be appointed
<br />viewers and that Melvili~e Bunting and Matthew Peanort, be
<br />_appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding
<br />viewers fails to participate, said viewems to view the
<br />hereinafter-described portion of such street and to report to
<br />this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if
<br />any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and closing
<br />the following:

<br />
<br /> Ail that portion of Water Street beginning
<br />at a point in the northwest corner of Museum
<br />Parcel 61C~as Shown on that certain plat
<br />entitled "Plat Showing Survey of Development
<br />Parcels 6lA through 61H Crawford Renewal
<br />Project VA. R-53 Portsmouth, Virginia",
<br />dated August 13, 1985 and revised May
<br />27, 1986, duly recorded in the Clerk's
<br />Office of the Circuit Court of the City
<br />of Portsmouth in Map Book 13 at page 225;
<br />thence N 03° 32' 15" W, 291.24 feet; thence
<br />N 86° 52' 02, E, 25.25 feet to a point
<br />on a curve having a radius of 45,944.19
<br />feet, thence along said curve to the
<br />left having a radius of 45,944.19 feet,
<br />an arc distance of 291.10 feet,
<br />thence S 86° 31' 45" W, 26.59 feet to
<br />the point of Beginning."
