<br />February 10. 2009 <br /> <br />(b) HP-09-01 <br /> <br />THE GATEWAY AT STERLING POINT - The Futura Group, LLC <br />request housing approval to construct 19 townhouses at 3105 Tyre <br />Neck Road. The Comprehensive Plan's Generalized Future Land <br />Use Map recommends Mixed Residential Development. Vision <br />Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community and <br />a Robust and Prospering Economy. <br /> <br />1. A. R. Gregor, 116 Landmark Square, Virginia Beach, spoke in support of this item. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that HP-09-01 be approved on first <br />reading, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />(c) S-09-01 <br /> <br />PRENTIS PARK - Ordinance granting the request of Jeffrey S. <br />Miller, attorney for the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority, for the closure of Griffin Street between Richmond <br />Avenue and Lansing Avenue just north of 1-264 and east of <br />Swanson Homes. The Comprehensive Plan's Generalized Future <br />Land Use Map recommends Multifamily Residential Development. <br />Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of <br />Community. <br /> <br />There were no speakers. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Smith, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF GRIFFIN STREET BETWEEN LANSING <br />AVENUE AND RICHMOND AVENUE." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />(d) S-09-02 <br /> <br />FORMER JEFFRY WILSON SITE - Ordinance granting the request <br />of Jeffrey S. Miller, attorney for the Portsmouth Redevelopment and <br />Housing Authority, for the closure of Wilson Parkway and all platted <br />streets within the Jeffry Wilson property and closure of all platted <br />streets located in the Clarke School site. The Comprehensive <br />Plan's Generalized Future Land Use Map recommends Mixed Land <br />Use. Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of <br />Community. <br /> <br />There were no speakers. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Smith, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE TO CLOSE WILSON PARKWAY AND PORTIONS OF UNNAMED <br />LANE LYING ADJACENT TO FREDERICK BOULEVARD, GIBNEY STREET, OAST <br />STREET, COLUMBIA STREET, REESE STREET, SMITH STREET, THOMAS <br />STREET, SYER STREET, FORD STREET, 24TH STREET, WILLIAMS STREET IN <br />THE JEFFREY WILSON/STEPHEN H. CLARKE ACADEMY AREA." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br />
