June 11, 1991 <br /> <br /> Mayor Webb presented the framed resolution to Dr. Wheelan. <br /> <br /> Mayor Webb presented the "Silver Dollar Award" to Thomas <br />O. Eaton and Sam J. Workman, Jr., for their substantial savings <br />to the taxpayers. <br /> <br />91-208 - NON-AGENDA SPEAKERS: <br /> <br /> (1) Charles Whitehurst, City Treasurer, spoke concerning <br />his budget request and communication with other City officials. <br /> <br /> Mayor Webb granted 5 additional minutes to Mr. Whitehurst <br />as per his request~ <br /> <br /> (2) <br />the NAACP, requested data regarding the Police Department, <br />parking in Ida Barbour, and Park View incident with Police. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Clemons and seconded by Mr. Corprew to <br />extend the time for Mr. Copeland to speak and was adopted <br />by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Councilman King addressed the issue on parking in Ida <br />Barbour and the request to restrict the parking in that <br />neighborhood from the Ida Barbour Residents Committee. He <br />offered to attend a meeting with Mr. Copeland and the <br />Residents Committee~ <br /> <br />William E. Copeland, 2107 Stanton Avenue, repre'sen~ing <br /> <br /> Councilman Clemons requested a <br />Park View from the city Manager and <br />Attorney referencing data requested. <br /> <br />report on the incident in <br />a report from the City <br /> <br /> (3) Dolores wyatt, 99 Channing Avenue, representing the <br />Cradock Area'Civic Coalition spoke in support of the automated <br />refuse collection, ~ ': ' ~< ' ~ ~ <br /> <br /> (4) Deborah West, 3912 Deep Creek Blvd., representing the <br />Cradock Area Civic Coalition commended the automated refuse <br />collection program. <br /> <br /> (5) Leslie R. French, III, 208 Glasgow Street, requested <br />that the format for published agenda items be changed to <br />provide more i~f~rmation. <br /> <br /> (6) John F~Bailey~' Jr., 203 Dixie Avenue, representing <br />the Federation of Civic Clubs, requested changing the format of <br />public notice on agenda items, particularly changes to the <br />Codel <br /> <br /> ~ UNFINISHED BUSINESS - ~ - <br /> <br /> 91-183 - Ordinance creating a one-way traffic system in <br />the alleyways from Chautauqua Avenue to Douglas Avenue and from <br />Bayview Boulevard to Adriatic Street, deferred from the Regular <br />Meeting of May 14, 1991. <br /> <br /> Mr. Orton recommended that the item be denied at this <br />time. <br /> <br /> <br />
