<br />M. Clemons, John H. Epperson, James C. Hawks, Lee E. Kin
<br />Louise Lucas, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Ka

<br /> Reverend Devlaming Peace, Pastor of Zion Bethel Uni
<br />of Christ, opened the meeting with prayer followed by th
<br />of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />
<br />Mayor Webb welcomed all in attendance.
<br />
<br /> Mo~ion of Mr. Epperson and seconded by Mr. King, th
<br />of a Called Meeting of June 11, 1991, and minutes of a
<br />Meeting of June 11, 1991, to be approved as received, an
<br />adopted by unanimous vote.

<br /> 91-217 Motion of Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Ki
<br />following resolution was adopted on first reading, and b
<br />following vote:

<br /> "A RESOLUTION HONORING THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF TYRONI~I H
<br />THE AREA OF VOLUNTEERISM.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Tyrone Hines is a recipient of the 1991 Go
<br />Award for Volunteering Excellence; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Hines' accomplishments as a volunteer
<br />distinguished him as a citizen who has successfully a~dr
<br />concerns and needs of his community~ and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Hines' many accomplishments include th
<br />formation~of the Mount H~rmon Athletic Association which
<br />baseball,itee ball, and oasketball teams in conjunction
<br />Little League Program thus providing 28 athletic teams f
<br />City housing projects; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Hines' efforts have benefited the publ
<br />communities and our entire City by teaching the lesso~s
<br />work, dedication, economics and greater neighborhood coo
<br />to achieve desired goals; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, for more than 15 years, Mr. Hines has give
<br />unselfishly of his time, energy, intellect and other res.
<br /> p6sitive activities and opportunities for the ch
<br /> of our City; and
<br />

<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Hines' efforts have contributed to the
<br />improvement of the image of the housing project communities in the
<br />City of P,~rtsmouth.

<br /> NOW,'~THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Portsmo6t~, Virginia, that the Council does hereby express its
<br />appreciation and pride in the achievements of Mr. Tyrone Hines in
<br />the publi~ housing communities, this City, and in the ar~a of
<br />volunteerism.

<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resoluti¢
<br />spread upon the minutes of this Council and that a copy .
<br />presented to Mr. Hines in recognition of his achievement;
