Mav 27.2008 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, there were present: *Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Marlene W. Randall, *William E. Moody, Jr., Stephen E. Heretick, Elizabeth M. Psimas, *Ray A Smith, Sr., Douglas L. Smith, City Manager Kenneth L. Chandler, Senior Deputy City Attorney George M. Willson. 08 - 247 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6th Floor Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27,2008 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. By order of the Mayor." 08 - 248 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: 1. Pneumo Abex Escrow Account - Betty Burrell, Chief Financial Officer 2. Community Planning and Development Program FY09 - Robin Herbert, CPO Administrator 3. Parking District Update - Richard Hartman, City Engineer 4. Court House Briefing - Hargrove Brockwell Associates (HBA) 08 - 249 - Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to go into Closed Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 of the Code of Virginia to discuss: . A prospective new business or industry, or a business expansion, where there has been no prior public announcement of the business' or industry's interest, as permitted under Subsection A5. The purpose of the meeting is to permit a confidential discussion of a prospective new business or industry, or expansion in the Churchland section of the City, where there has been no prior public announcement of the business' or industry's interest. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. R. Smith, and seconded by Ms. Randall, pursuant to Section 2.2-3712(0) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion, by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
