Roberta Riddick, 3309 Meadowbrook Lane, Chesapeake, gave a personal account <br />of how reductions in her retirement have affected her quality of life. <br /> <br />4. J. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, gave a historical account of how <br />Portsmouth was involved in the development of the United States of America for at <br />least a century. He also asked Councilman Whitehurst, who is responsible for <br />campaigning for a City's History Commission, to encourage the other Council <br />members to form a study task force that would assess our ways and means of <br />appreciating Portsmouth's history. <br /> <br />5. Clarence McCoy, 3408 Canterbury Drive, voiced his concerns with the Retirement <br />Forum that will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008. <br /> <br />6. Dwight Dixon, 3971 Film Avenue, reminded City Council of the importance to the <br />City of Portsmouth of the Jordan Bridge which will be turning 80 years old soon. <br /> <br />7. Glenna Cornett, 201 Thelmar Lane, voiced her opposition to the proposed Victory <br />Crossing Conference Center and Hotel. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 8:52 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Anita Y.
