October 15, 1991 <br /> <br /> This additional easement area will provide the necessary <br />electrical service to King's Crossing. I, therefore, recommend <br />the adoption of the resolution authorizing execution of the <br />necessary easement for~that purpose~" ~ -~. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded~b~ Mr~ Epperson, the <br />following resolution was adopted;~and by the following Vote: <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY AN <br /> EASEMENT TO VIRGINIA POWER~COMPAN~-FOR~THE INSTALLATION OF <br /> ELECTRICAL SWITCHING EQUIPM~N~cAND3UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL <br /> LINES, TO T~E KING3S CROS$IN~DEVE~OPME~T SITE, ON THE <br /> LIGHTSHIP MUSEUM PROPERTY." <br /> <br /> "WHEREAS, Virginia Power Company has requested an'easement <br />over, under and across the property~f the C~ty known as the <br />Lightship Museum property; and ~3~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said easement is necessary to'upgrade service to <br />the Lightship Museum, and in crder~to/provide electrical <br />service to the development site known as King's Crossing. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED. by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virgin~a~ that th~'City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to convey:an easement to Virginia Power <br />Company for the installation of electrical switching equipment <br />and underground electrical lines~o~the K~ng's Crossing <br />development site on that property known as the Lightship Museum <br />Property as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> All that certain piece or parcel~.of~land, situate in the <br /> City of Portsmouth, Virgin±a,~ as%shown on that certain <br /> plat of Virginia Power Comp~ny~numbered as Plat Number <br /> 24910054, dated September 11, l~91~Ci~ of Portsmouth, <br /> Virginia, said plat being attached hereto and made a part <br /> hereof. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to sign such easement agreements and <br />other documents as may be necessary to carry out the intent of <br />this resolution, and as he may deem to be in the best interest <br />of the City." <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Corprew, Epperson~} HBwks, King, Webb <br />Nays: None ~ - - <br /> <br /> 91-352 - Letter ~f~rom the City ~sa.g~e'r recommending <br />adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to sign <br />an overhead power line easement agreement with Virginia Power <br />on City owned propert~ on Harper ~R'oad. ~ ~ ..... <br /> <br /> "Virginia Power has reques~%e~'an ~verhead power l'ine <br /> easement of thirty (30) feet in the right-of-way of the most <br /> recent extension of Harper Road. This will allow Virginia Power <br /> Company to relocate lines already in place so as to provide for <br /> full use of the City p~operty no'w occupied by the Virgi~nia Port <br /> Authority. · ' ' ~ ~' <br /> <br /> This easement is necessary~ t~ 'the continued use of the <br /> property in question, and I reco'mme~d ~adoption of the <br /> resolution authorizing execution of necessary documents <br /> coveying said easement." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. Clemons, the <br /> following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
