NOW, October 15, 1991 THEREFORE, BE ET RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Vincent Cherry, Clinton Fortune, Lee Batts, Casey Lavender, and Richard Todd be appointed viewers and that James Vick and Waldo Davis be appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers fails to participate~ said viewers to view the hereinafter-described street and~t~ report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the following: Beginning at the Northeast ccrner of the Intersection of Effingham and Grace Streets; thence East along the North right-of-way of Grace Street a distance of 300.87', more or less, to the West right-of-w~y~of Green Street~ thence South along the West right-of-way'Of-G~een Street $ distance of 30' to the South right-of-way of Grace Street; thence West along the South right-of-way of Grace Street a distance of 311.68', more or less, to the East right-of-way ~f~Effingham Street; thence North along the East right-of-way of Effingh~m'~treet a distance of 31.86' to the North right-of-way of Grace Street, to the point of beginning." Ayes: Clemons, Corprew, Epperson, King~ Hawks~ Webb Nays: None 91-354 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a motion ito refund, with i~terest, $386.28 in erroneously assessed real estate taxes to H. C. & Martha R. oliver for the fiscal years of 1988-89 through 1990-91. "The City Assessor is requesting a refund of ~$386.28, with interest, to H. C. & Martha R. Oliver whose mailing address is 3508 Moore Road, Portsmouth, Virginia 23703. The parcel had been erroneously assessed with a swimming pool. The refund is for Real Estate Taxes assessed and paid in error for the fiscal years of 1988-89 through 1990-91. I recommend'your approval of thismotion for a refund with interest." Motion of Mr. Clemons and seconded- by Mr. Epperson, to authorize the refund with interest, and was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Clemons, Corprew, Epperson, Hawks~ King, Webb Nays: None 91-355 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a motion to refund, with interest, $21.84 in erroneously assessed real estate taxes to Kathleen H. Lane for the fiscal years of 1988-89 through 1990-91. "The City Assessor is requei~ting a refund of $21.84, with interest, to Kathleen H. Lane whose mailing address is 3621 Moore Road, Portsmouth, Virginia 23703. The parcel had been erroneously assessed with a half bath. The refund i's for Real Estate Taxes assessed and paid in erro~ for the fiscal years of 1988-89 through~1990-9T. ~ ~ ~ I recommend your approvai of this motion for a refund with interest."
