<br />June 10. 2008 <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $1,500,000 FROM THE FY <br />2007-2008 RISK MANAGEMENT FUND AND APPROPRIATING SAID SUM IN THE <br />FY 2007-2008 GENERAL FUND OPERATING BUDGET." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, D. Smith, R. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />08 - 279 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />There were no appointments. <br /> <br />08 - 280 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to add an item to the <br />agenda, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, D. Smith, R. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, that the annual salary of <br />the City Attorney be increased to $161,700, retroactive to January 1, 2008, and was <br />adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Holley <br />Nays: D. Smith, R. Smith <br /> <br />08 - 281 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />There were no pending items. <br /> <br />08 - 282 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Ned McCabe, 110 East Tyler Crescent, wanted City Council to know that the History <br />Commission is doing everything to place the Battle of Craney Island on the National <br />Register of Historic Places. <br /> <br />2. J. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, provided information on the Bunker Hill of <br />the South. <br /> <br />3. Larry Scott, 5817 Brookmere lane, brought to City Council's attention retirees that <br />have been affected by the Portsmouth Supplemental Retirement System. <br /> <br />4. Hojirah Abdus-Salaam, 449 Martin Luther King Freeway, spoke in opposition to the <br />proposed Martin Luther King Extension. <br /> <br />5. Bruce lalonde, 168 Yorkshire Road, asked for support from City Council and <br />citizens in bringing back Pokey Smokey. <br /> <br />6. Chris Dicken, 3 locust lane, asked that City Council honor their promise that there <br />would always be duel access to Sandie Point by asking the Condo Association to <br />remove a gate that has been placed at an entryway. <br /> <br />7.
