Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />08 - 195 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />Ms. Randall offered the following nominations: <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY/PPIC <br /> <br />Roger Brown to be appointed to fill a term ending December 31,2009, replacing <br />Michael Massie. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />Calsine Pitt to be appointed to fill a term ending December 31,2009, replacing Garlon <br />Turner. <br /> <br />SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT BOARD <br /> <br />Phil Smith to be appointed to fill a term ending September 30,2008, replacing Jackson <br />Shaw. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Ms. Psi mas, to close nominations, and <br />the above nominations were adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, D. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />08 - 196 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />'" Ms. Psi mas encouraged citizens to participate in the 1 5t Annual Restaurant Week in <br />Portsmouth, April 14-20 which will benefit Edmark Hospice for Children and St. <br />Judes Children's Hospital. She also informed citizens that Portsmouth will be <br />hosting the Parade of Bands, from the Virginia Arts Festival, Thursday, April 17 at <br />6:00 p.m. which will feature the International Tattoo Parading Bands from across the <br />world. <br /> <br />'" Ms. Psimas announced that Captain Dee Mewbourne, Commanding Officer of the <br />Dwight D. Eisenhower, will be the Grand Marshall of the 124th Annual Memorial Day <br />Parade. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Psi mas, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to add an item to the <br />agenda, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, D. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. D. Smith, seconded by Ms. Psimas, to adjust the City Council's <br />calendar for the year to change the budget adoption date from April 22, 2008, to May <br />13, 2008, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, D. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />08 - 197 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />There were no pending items. <br />
