Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 363 Middle Street, wanted to remind citizens that an <br />independent audit of the City will come at a price not only financially but also in <br />manpower from those in the Finance Department. <br /> <br />2. Billy Moon, 3912 Anchor Avenue, Chesapeake, asked for help with the large sink <br />holes on his property in the Peach Tree community. <br /> <br />3. Jim Ellis, 805 Arnold Palmer Drive, continued remarks from the previous Council <br />meeting suggesting ways the City can improve the budget process. He also voiced <br />his support of the Virginia Supreme Court in striking down the Hampton Roads <br />Transportation Authority (HRTA). <br /> <br />4. Larry Robertson, 3806 Harvest Court, brought to Council's attention his frustration <br />with the City issuing use permits and business licenses to residents of the Peachtree <br />Community who have not gotten permission from the Homeowners' Association to <br />do work on or have a business at their residence. <br /> <br />5. J. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, informed Council of Senate Bill 3838 <br />creating the Virginia Bicentennial of the American War of 1812 Commission which <br />will prepare and commemorate the Bicentennial Anniversary of Virginia's <br />participation in the War of 1812. <br /> <br />6. Ron Evans, 14 Chippewa Trail, voiced his opposition to the high real estate tax rate. <br />He also asked that Council adopt a revenue neutral real estate tax rate and provided <br />them with a petition from citizens who also support this idea. <br /> <br />7. Randi Strutton, 4704 Rivershore Road, gave a report on various updates with <br />regards to projects at Hoffler's Creek and requested continued financial support by <br />City Council. <br /> <br />8. Kathleen Carlson, 116 Chowan Drive, invited Council to a bookstore opening and <br />also to a celebration March 27-29, 2008. <br /> <br />9. Jason Knorowski, 3801 Magnolia Drive, voiced his concern with the budget and pay <br />for those in the Police Department. <br /> <br />10. Phyllis Angus, 3811 Fruitwood Court, presented grievances on behalf of the <br />Peachtree Community and requested what steps the community would need to take <br />to redefine their Planned Unit Development (PUD) designation. <br /> <br />11. Clifford Kalmbach, 3702 Magnolia Drive, wanted clarification on monies that had <br />been allotted for a fire station and also about funding provided to the <br />Commonwealth's Attorney Office. <br /> <br />12. C. W. McCoy, 3408 Canterbury Drive, asked that Council abolish the Social Security <br />offset for the Portsmouth Supplemental Retirement retirees. <br />
