249

January 28, 1992

The name of the property owners are A. C. Boatwright and M.
G. Whitehurst.

The amount to be deposited ~to the credit of the Clerk of the
Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth is $~,200.00."

Ayes: Clemons, Corprew, Epperson, King, Hawks, Lucas, Webb
Nays: None

92-35 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of
a motion submitting the Quarterly Financial Report for the period
ended December 31, 1991.

"In accordance with Section 12-64 of the City Code, the
Quarterly Financial Report for the period ended December 31,
is herewith submitted.

1991

Actual revenues to date stand at 41 percent of the revenues
estimated for the year, and 44 percent of the appropriations have
been expended as of December 31, 1991. During.the same quarter
last year 41 percent of the estimated revenues had been received
and expenditures were 44 percent of the budget appropriations.

Therefore, at this point in time revenues and expenditures,
as a percentage of budget, are the same as last year's. Similar
activity should be expected for the remainder of the fiscal yeart
taking into account that fourth quarter revenues are
disproportionately large and variable. At this point, there does
not appear to be any indication of substantial problems with
respect to either the revenues or the expenditures. It remains my
intention however, to continue to examine all vacancies for
possible elimination of positions as well as other expenditures
for the potential to save money."

Motion of Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Epperson, to
accept the Quarterly Financial Report period ended December
1991, as information, and by the following vote:

31,

Ayes: Clemons, Corprew, Epperson, King, Hawks, Williams, Webb
Nays: None

- NEW BUSINESS -
92-36 - Boards and Commissions
No appointments were made.

92-37 Motion of Mr. Clemons and seconded by Mr. Epperson
to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section
2.1-344 of the ~ode of Virginia for the following:

(1) Discussion and consideration of the performance of the
City Manager as permitted under Subsection (A) (1);

(2) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions
by the City Council as permitted under Subsection (A) (1).

Motion adopted by unanimous vote.
