Smith, Randall <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />07 - 489 - Adoption of a motion accepting the 2008 Calendar of City Council Meetings. <br />Vision Principles: Bold New Directions. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. The Portsmouth City Council normally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday <br />of each month, and the Monday prior to the second Tuesday regular meeting. <br />. During the month of August 2008, the Portsmouth City Council will take vacation. <br />. The Planning Commission items heard during their July meeting will be placed <br />for consideration on the September City Council meeting schedule. <br />. The regularly scheduled meeting of Tuesday, November 11, 2008, falls on <br />Veteran's Day, a federal holiday; therefore the regular meeting will be rescheduled to <br />Monday, November 10, 2008. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. This action would allow the City Council to give advance notification to the <br />citizens, media, and city departments of the 2008 meeting schedule. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />. There is no financial impact. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br />Adoption of the motion. Vision Principles: Bold New Directions <br /> <br />Next Steps following City Council Action: <br />. The City Clerk will post the 2008 Meeting Calendar on the City's webpage and <br />provide to the general public. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Psi mas, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to accept the 2008 <br />Meeting Calendar of the City Council, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, D. Smith, Randall <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />07 - 490 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />There were no appointments. <br /> <br />07 - 491 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />'" Vice Mayor Randall informed Council and citizens that the City Clerk, Debra White, <br />will receive her 20 year service pin, along with others, at the upcoming Employee <br />Service Awards Ceremony, 2:00 p.m., December 17, 2007 and invited all to attend. <br /> <br />07 - 492- Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />. Report on Downtown Parking - John Rowe / Richard Hartman <br /> <br />07 - 493 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Teddy Lamb, 301 Allen Road, gave an update on the success of the Cradock <br />Neighborhood Watch program and voiced his support of the Sheriff's Department <br />Crime Unit. <br />
