Smith informed Council and citizens that the Virginia Port Authority will be <br />hosting an open house with discussions on the eastward expansion of Craney Island <br />and the development of the Craney Island terminal, October 23,2007,5 - 9 p.m., at <br />Churchland High School for those who would like to attend. <br /> <br />~ Mr. Moody reminded citizens that the Woman's Club of Portsmouth will be hosting a <br />General Assembly Candidate Forum, Tuesday, October 16, 2007, 7 - 9 p.m. at 304 <br />Sycamore Road, Portsmouth. <br /> <br />07 - 447- Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />There were no pending items. <br /> <br />07 - 448 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Jewel Maguire, 4642 West Norfolk Road, voiced her concern with the sound wall not <br />being constructed on 1-164 and how the lack of a wall has contributed to the <br />decreased quality of life for the residents. <br /> <br />2. Patricia Edgerton, 4504 West Norfolk Road, gave a timeline of the bill that has been <br />introduced in Congress to attain funding for the construction of a sound wall and also <br />voiced her concern that this bill may eventually get lost amid other priorities facing <br />Congress. <br /> <br />3. Clyde Toler, 1029 Blair Street, thanked the City Manager for coming to his home to <br />discuss some of the problems facing his neighborhood and also informed Council of <br />other areas in the City that need to be cleaned. <br /> <br />4. Deon Foster, 638 High Street, voiced her concern with the effect the aggressive <br />parking enforcement will have on businesses in the downtown area. <br /> <br />5. Steve Carroll, 3112 Riveredge Drive, voiced his concern with the lack of a sound wall <br />on 1-164. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 8:38 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Anita Y.
