<br />AND (D); 17-26 AND 17-132 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO HOUSING AND
<br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT."

<br />92-207 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of
<br />an ordinance to amend Chapter 32 of the code of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, by amending Section 32-5 (c)
<br />thereof, pertaining to application for vacation of street,
<br />alley, easement, right-of-way, or other public way; appointment
<br />of viewers.
<br />
<br /> "The 1992 General Assembly of Virginia enacted several
<br />laws pertaining to street closures. Since these requirements
<br />do not coincide with the requirements presently listed in our
<br />City Code, an ordinance change is necessary to comply with this
<br />new State law. The proposed ordinance will change regulations
<br />dealing with the sale of the land which constituted the street
<br />or public way that was closed, vacated or abandoned.
<br />

<br />an ordinance to amend Chapter 24 of the code of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, by amending Section 24-49 (a)
<br />thereof, pertaining to common nuisances.

<br /> "The 1992 General Assembly of Virginia enacted several
<br />laws pertaining to controlled substances as enforced by our
<br />police department. Since these requirements do not coincide
<br />with the requirements presently listed in our ~City Code, an
<br />ordinance change is necessary to comply with this new State
<br />law. The proposed ordinance wilt expand the definition of
<br />common nuisances based on drug use at certain premises.
<br />

<br />ordinance."
