That the Department of pubtic~Uti~t~ities of the City of <br />Portsmouth is hereby granted a use permit pursuant to Section <br />40-43.1 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, virginia, 1988, <br />for the operation of a water supply facility on property <br />located at 613 Broad Street and~being more particularly <br />described as: <br /> <br />UP-92-14 <br /> <br /> Beginning on the east right-of-way line of Broad <br /> Street a distance of 277.6' south from its <br /> intersection with the south right-of-way of Woodrow <br /> Street; thence east 295' to a point; ~thence southwest <br /> 362.61' to the east right-of,way line of Broad <br /> Street; thence north along said right-of-way 217.4' <br /> to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> 3. That this use permit is approved subject to the <br />following conditions: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />The water supply facility shall be limited to an elevated <br />water reservoir and to structures and parking accessory <br />thereto. <br /> <br />(b) The applicant shall install landscaping on the site in <br /> aCcordance with Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part <br /> hereof. <br /> <br />(c) Any chain link fence installed'shall be black or green <br /> vinyl-coated." ~ ~ <br /> <br />(b) GHP-85-31 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION GRANTING APPROVAL FOR A <br /> MODIFICATION OF GROUP HOUSING PROJECT GHP-85-31 <br /> TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF A MANAGEMENT OFFICE <br /> FOR THE APARTMENTS AT 3717-3723 TURNPIKE ROAD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ Evans; Majer and Stewart Associates <br />were granted a group housing project permit <br />(GHP-85-31) for the construction of forty (40) <br />rental dwelling units at 3713-3723 Turnpike Road by <br />resolution of the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, dated April 8, 1986; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the applicants, Evans, Majer and <br />Stewart Associates, now known as <br />Stewart-Majer-Evans, have applied to amend said <br />permit to allow the construction of a management <br />office for the apartments at 3713-3723 Turnpike <br />Road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 40-113 of the <br />Zoning Ordinance, the Planning Commission has <br />reviewed the proposal and the site layout plans <br />submitted therewith and has recommended conditional <br />approval of the application; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the proposal is consistent with the <br />Comprehensive Plan and Section 40-116 of the Zoning <br />Ordinance~ and is of a design which is <br />architecturally compatible with existing structures <br />on the site. <br /> <br /> <br />
