These target area funds will <br />be available through May 27, 1993 and are to be utilized by <br />local lending institutions to provide permanent mortgage loan <br />financing to qualified families and 'individuals of low and <br />moderate income who purchase single family dwelling units <br />in the following approved targeted areas o'f the City: <br /> <br /> Brighton, Cradock, East Park .View, Ebony Heights, <br /> Effingham, Hattonsville, Mt. Hermon, Olde Towne <br /> South, Park View, Port Norfolk, Prentis Park, <br /> Truxtun, Twin Pines, West Park View, and the <br /> following Census-Tracts: 105, 111, 112, 113, 114, <br /> and 121. (These Census Tracts generally encompass <br /> the communities of Mt. Hermon, the High Street <br /> Corridor, and Southside.) <br /> <br /> According to VHDA, the inter~st'rate on these loans will <br /> fluctuate with the 30-year First'z.gome-First-Served Single <br /> Family Mortgage Loan rate which is currently 7.25%. VHDA <br /> offers mortgage insurance through four sources and as a result, <br /> homebuyers benefit from lower down payments and the financing <br /> of closing costs. A family consisting of two persons with <br /> incomes of $34,680 may qualify for up to $81,500. <br /> <br /> <br />
