April 17, 2007 <br /> <br />8. George Gaffos, 5224 Lake Circle, spoke in opposition to the proposed real estate tax <br />increase. <br /> <br />9. William McCallum, 2517 Rock Creek Drive, Chesapeake, asked that Council provide <br />additional $1.9 million to the School Board. <br /> <br />10. Jeffrey Pennington, 304 Sandpiper Drive, asked that Council honor its funding <br />commitment to the School Board. <br /> <br />11. Diane Braun, 31 Willow Bend Court, asked that Council honor its funding <br />commitment to the School Board. <br /> <br />12. Jason Knorowski, 3801 Magnolia Drive, asked that Council support a pay plan for <br />the Police Department. <br /> <br />13. Clifford Kalmbach, 3702 Magnolia Drive, spoke in opposition to increase in real <br />estate tax assessments. <br /> <br />14. Brenda Louise Joseph, 4205 Summerset Drive, asked that Council honor funding <br />commitment to the School Board. <br /> <br />15. Martha Ann Creecy, 317 Dinwiddie Street, spoke in opposition to the location of the <br />Courthouse and asked that Council fund pay plan for the Police Department. <br /> <br />16. Hugh Maxwell, 11 Elmhurst Lane, spoke in opposition to increase in real estate tax <br />assessments and asked for increased reduction in the tax rate. <br /> <br />17. Robert Berquest, 1 Crawford Court, spoke in opposition to boat tax increase. <br /> <br />18. Steve Johnson, 3709 Forrester Lane, Virginia Beach, asked Council to provide <br />funding for the Endependence Center. <br /> <br />19. Cheryl Richardson, Lot 168, Currituck, NC, spoke in opposition to the boat tax <br />increase. <br /> <br />20. Linda Ridenour, 313 Tareyton Lane, asked Council to honor funding commitment to <br />the School Board. <br /> <br />21. Larry Williams, 16 Benton Avenue, asked Council to grant the request of $9 million <br />to School Board. <br /> <br />22. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 363 Middle Street, suggested ways in which Council could <br />fund the $1.9 million to the School Board. <br /> <br />23. Susan Rodman, 4440 Birch Road, spoke in opposition to the boat increase. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.2-3712(B) of the Code of Virginia that Council conduct one or more closed meetings <br />at an undisclosed location at a time or times within the next fifteen days solely for the <br />purpose of interviewing candidates for the position of chief administrative officer. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psimas, D.
