Pending approval, the Director of BHS will ensure the funds are budgeted and <br />utilized in FY07 to provide the Recovery Orientation and Information Technology <br />Services. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AN ALLOCATION OF $42,500 IN FEDERAL <br />BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL <br />HEALTH, MENTAL RETARDATION AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES IN THE <br />FY 2006-2007 BEHAVIORAL HEAL THCARE SERVICES FUND OPERATING <br />BUDGET." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, D. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />07 - 170 - Adoption of an ordinance appropriating an allocation of $6,000 from the <br />Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse <br />Services in the FY 2006-2007 Behavioral Healthcare Services Fund Operating Budget. <br />Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. DMHMRSAS is allocating a minimum of $3,000 for each person with mental <br />retardation who is selected to receive a Medicaid Home and Community Based Mental <br />Retardation Waiver Slot to assist the individual transition into residential services out of <br />the home and help build community-based residential infrastructure. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. Medicaid Home and Community Based Mental Retardation Waiver Slots are <br />given to community service boards for use in funding a variety of services individuals <br />with mental retardation may need in the community to avoid institutionalization. Start up <br />funds are used to purchase one-time only items for the persons to live in the <br />community, e.g. bedroom furniture, etc. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />. There is no financial impact to the City. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br />Adoption of a proposed ordinance.
