City Clerk <br /> <br /> The Cougcil shall appoint a City Clerk who shall serve at the <br />pleasure of ~he Council. , The City Clerk shall receive <br />compensation to be fixed Dy Council, an~ all other fees received <br />shall be paid into the City Treasury. <br /> <br /> The City Clerk may appoint such ~eputy City Clerks~ as may be <br />authorized, who shall assist the City C~erk in the performance of <br />those duties and shall act under the direction and control of the <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br /> 7. By~mending Section 7.01 <br />Law to read ~s follows: <br />Section 7.01! Functions and duties. <br /> <br /> (i) W~en a vacant position is to be filled, the commissio~ <br />shall certify to the app~intin~ authority, on written request, the <br />names of at least five (D) persons high~st on the eligible list <br />for the clas~; (and if there is no such list, to establish a <br />provisional or temporary appointment list of such classi. No <br />temporary or provisional appointment shall continue for a period <br />l~nger than ~iour (4) months; nor shall any perso~ receive more <br />than one pro'~isional appointment or ser~e more than four (4) <br />months as a ~rovisional appointee in anF fiscal year. <br /> <br /> 9.
