561 December 8, 1992 Section 4.01. City Clerk The Cougcil shall appoint a City Clerk who shall serve at the pleasure of ~he Council. , The City Clerk shall receive compensation to be fixed Dy Council, an~ all other fees received shall be paid into the City Treasury. The City Clerk may appoint such ~eputy City Clerks~ as may be authorized, who shall assist the City C~erk in the performance of those duties and shall act under the direction and control of the City Clerk. 7. By~mending Section 7.01 Law to read ~s follows: Section 7.01! By amending Section 11.02(i) pertaining to the functions and duties of the Civil Service Commission to read as follows: Section 11.02. Functions and duties. (i) W~en a vacant position is to be filled, the commissio~ shall certify to the app~intin~ authority, on written request, the names of at least five (D) persons high~st on the eligible list for the clas~; (and if there is no such list, to establish a provisional or temporary appointment list of such classi. No temporary or provisional appointment shall continue for a period l~nger than ~iour (4) months; nor shall any perso~ receive more than one pro'~isional appointment or ser~e more than four (4) months as a ~rovisional appointee in anF fiscal year. 9.
