405 I March 27 , 2007 TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT OF HAMPTON ROADS Vice Mayor Marlene W. Randall to fill a term as an alternate beginning March 27, 2007. HAMPTON ROADS REGIONAL ADVISORY GROUP Councilman Stephen E. Heretick to be appointed to fill a term beginning March 27, 2007. Councilman Douglas L. Smith to be appointed to fill a term beginning March 27, 2007. Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to close nominations, and the above nominations were adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psimas, Randall, D. Smith, R. Smith, Holley Nays: None 07 - 141 - Items Submitted by Council Members ~ Mr. D. Smith, concerned with the delay in the start of the Council meetings, asked that the Manager restructure the order of the Public Work Sessions along with dinner and closed meetings and bring a recommendation back to Council. ~ Ms. Randall wanted to remind citizens of the Mayor's Ball, Saturday, March 31, 2007. ~ Mr. R. Smith suggested that Council reconsider the time at which dinner is served. ~ Mr. Moody asked that Management restructure the Public Work Session agenda. He also wished former Councilman Charles Whitehurst a speedy recovery. ~ Ms. Psi mas reminded Council of the reasons why the time for dinner had changed. 07 - 142 - Report on Pending Items There were no pending items. 07 - 143 - Non-Agenda Speakers 1. Frank Harte, 3403 Dogwood Drive, informed Council of funding that may be used to start construction on the sound wall on 1-164. He also voiced his concern with the sound wall not being built in time for the opening of the Maersk Terminals in July. On motion, meeting adjourned at 10:36 p.m. Minutes prepared by: Anita Y.
