In the Community Development. <br />Program adopted by the City Council there a-re designated funds <br />to complete this project in the Olde ToWne South area. <br /> <br /> Bids were re:ceived on February 9, 1993 for installation of <br />the right-of-way improvements, These improvements include new <br />water, sewer, storm drainage, streets, and sidewalks for a 19 <br />lot, single family subdivisiOn. The project encompasses most of <br />the existing four vacant blocks between Effing.ham and washington <br />Streets and SOuth Street to County Street. <br /> <br /> The bids were competitiVe and favorable with today's <br /> <br />construction market (see Attachment No. 1). The total <br />anticipated project costs are calculated as follows: <br /> <br /> Construction Contract (Rountree Construction) <br /> Virginia Power <br /> Public Utilities <br /> Relocation of Existing Lights for Townhouses <br /> Landscaping <br /> Contract Administration and Inspection <br /> Contingencies <br /> <br />$332,822 <br />$ 25,000 <br />$ 5,000 <br />$ 15~000 <br />$ 15,000 <br />'$ 33,000 <br />$ 37,178 <br /> <br />TOTAL ANTICIPATED PROJECT COST <br /> <br />$463,000 <br /> <br /> The Director of Public Works recommends that a contract be <br />awarded to the low bidder, Rountree Construction Company, Inc., <br />in the amount of $332,822. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, concur and recommend award of the contract <br />to the low bidder." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Clemons ~to award <br />the contract to Rountree Construction Company, Inc., was adopted <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Clemons, Griffin,~ Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br />NAYS: None <br /> <br />93-81 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a <br />motion submitting the Quarterly Financial Report for the period <br />ended December 31, 1992. <br /> <br /> "In accordance with section 12-64 of the City Code, the <br />Quarterly Financial RepOrt for the Period ended December 31, <br />1992 is herewith submitted. <br /> <br /> <br />
