<br />adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $474,000 from the
<br />Capital Improvements Fund for asbestos removal and roof
<br />replacement in city owned buildings, and award of the contract
<br />to the lowest responsible bidder, Absolute Enterprise, Inc.
<br />
<br /> "The 1992-93 Capital Improvement Plan authorized continued
<br />funding in FY 92-93 for asbestos removal in City-owned
<br />buildings as well as funding for the Children's Museum. Bids
<br />were received on March 23, 1993 for asbestos removal in the new
<br />Children's Museum, Lincoln Street Day Care Center, Syer Road
<br />Slaughter House, Bide-A-Wee Golf Course, City Jail, and Civic
<br />Center bciler room.

<br />recommend that a contract be awarded to the low bidder,
<br />Absolute Enterprise, Inc. with a prior appropriation of
<br />$20,000, an additional appropriation in the amount of $474,000
<br />is necessary. Of the requested appropriation, $400,000 will be
<br />taken from the funds authorized for the Children's Museum and
<br />$74,000 from the asbestos removal funds.

<br /> I, therefore, concur and recommend award of the contract
<br />to the low bidder and appropriation of the necessary funds.
<br />With your approval of this item, the balance in the Capital
