Vision Principle:
Neighborhood and Community Transformation.

Background:
. Work Release Center Renovations and Additions is an adopted project (#96641)
in the Capital Improvements Program (CIP).
. This capital project provides funding for renovations and additions to the work
release center for the purpose of providing increased security and space.
. $30,000 for the capital project was received from the Sheriff's Canteen funds.

Discussion:
. The supplemental appropriation to the Capital Improvements Fund will provide
funding to cover additional expenditures planned for the Work Release Center project.
. This additional appropriation will supplement the funding previously planned and
provided for this capital project in the Capital Project Fund within the CIP for FY2006-
2007.

Financial Impact:
. The supplemental appropriation will increase the FY 2006-2007 Budget for the
Capital Projects Fund by $30,000 for a total project cost of $412,000.

Staff Recommends:
Adoption of a proposed ordinance. Vision Principle: Neighborhood and Community
Transformation.

Next Steps Following Council Action:
. The Chief Financial Officer will ensure that the budget action required to increase
the total appropriations in the Capital Projects Fund by $30,000 is processed
immediately upon adoption of the ordinance.
