'Wayne Orton, City,Manager, Stuart E. <br />Katz, City'~Attorney. <br /> <br />93-219 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meetihg of the City-Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Stre~, at 5:0g~p.m., Tuesday, June 8;.!1993, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. ~ <br /> <br /> In addition you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />93-220 - The following items were <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />discussed durinq the Public <br /> <br /> 1. Sign Ordinance - Mr. Crton deferred this item to the <br />next Council Meeting. <br /> <br /> 2. Presentation by staff on the R.V. Personal Property <br />Tax rate. <br /> <br /> 3. Mr. Orton advised Council tha% he would be~presentino <br />an item during the New B~siness portion of the mee~'ing regarding <br />soil fill material for the Craney Island Landfill. <br /> <br /> 4. Mr. Orton advised that he would beorese~L~g~ ~ <br />information to Council under the New Busines~ portio~of t~ <br />meeting regarding funding of the presentation to be made to ~he <br />Base Realignment and Closure Review Commission concerning the <br />Norfolk Naval S~lpyar~ in Portsmouth.. <br /> <br />93-221 Motion of Mr. King and seconded by, Mr. Griffin to <br />into Executive Session ~ursuant to the ~rovisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of th~ Code of Virginia for tl~e~ f~llowing: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to <br />Commissions by the City Council as permitted <br />(A) (!); <br /> <br />Eoairds and ~ <br /> under S.ubsection <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the use of pub_~c±y <br />held real property in the central portion of the City as <br />permitted unde£ Subsection (A) (3). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Clemons and seconded by Mr. Epperson, <br />Eursuant to Section z.1-~44.! of the Code cz Virqinia certifying <br />that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br />Only public business matters ~awfu~y exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom'of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was <br />convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the <br />meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />APPROVKD -M°ti°n-was ~/~ad°pt'ed by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Mayor ~ity Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
