January 9, 2001 <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />· This easement is to be used to service the City Compound. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />· There is no financial impact for this item. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY AN EASEMENT <br />TO COLUMBIA GAS AT THE CITY COMPOUND. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the <br />City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey to Columbia Gas of Virginia of <br />Virginia, Inc. an easement over and across a pamel of property as shown on Drawing <br />Number V740-83-00, as prepared by Columbia Gas of Virginia, Inc., a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and made a part hereof." <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst, Halley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />01 - 20 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />There were no appointments. <br /> <br />01 - 21 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />> Councilman Benn announced Bishop Chades Bowens II passing on <br /> 2001. <br /> <br />January 6, <br /> <br />Councilman Whitehurst asked for a staff report on the Seawall Festival and its <br />future. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Griffin asked that additional homage be given to both the families of <br />Raymond Turner and Bishop Charles Bowens II. <br /> <br />Councilman Moody asked about water connection fees related to seniors paying <br />deposits. <br /> <br />01 - 22 - Non-Agenda SPeakers <br /> <br />Raleigh Harsley, 2124 Peach Street, spoke on Gosport Auto and its need to be <br />cleaned up.
