Auqust 10, 1993 At a Regular Meeting of the City Council held on Tuesday, August 10, 1993, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. Clemons, John H. Epperson, *Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. *Councilman Griffin arrived at 7:08 p.m. Reverend Donald Seely, Centenary United Methodist Church, opened the meeting with prayer which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Mayor Webb called the meeting to order and welcomed all in attendance. Motion of Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Epperson, the minutes Of a called meeting on July 27, 1993; a Regular Meeting on July 27, 1993, were approved, and were adopted and by unanimous vote. 93-306 - Presentation to Jane Moore, Commander, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 41 and Ruth Stokes, Chairman, Chapter 22 for "Forget-Me-Not-Days". 93-307 Presentation of special lapel pins to newly appointed Boards and Commissions members. Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to amend the order of business to discuss and consider the Public Hearing items at this point in the meeting and was adopted by unanimous vote. - Public Hearing - 93-309 - Public Hearing on rezoning and group housing project applications: (a) Z-93-09 CHURCHLAND NEIGHBORHOOD - Rezoning application of Horton & Dodd, P.C., to rezone the Portsmouth portion of property at 3204 Churchland Boulevard from Residential RS-150 to Commercial C-1. J. Gregory Dodd, 164 S. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake, VA, spoke in favor of the rezoning application. Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Epperson, to concur with the reco~endation of the Planning Commission that Z-93-09 be approved on first reading and by a vote of 6-0. (b) Z-93-10 TRUXTUN NEIGHBORHOOD - Rezoning application of the City of Portsmouth to modify the conditions of the present Commercial C-2-K ConditiOnal zoning at 3409 Deep Creek Boulevard. Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. King, to concur with the recommendation of the Planning Commission that Z-93-10 be approved on first reading and by a vote of 6-0. (c) Z-93-11 CHURCHLAND NEIGHBORHOOD - Rezoning application of River Pointe Associates, Inc. to modify the conditions of the present Residential RM-60-K Conditional zoning on property lying to the west of River Pointe Parkway and south of River Pointe Drive. J. S. Livesay, Jr., 301 Columbia Street, spoke in favor of the rezoning and group housing applications.
