<br />189 <br /> <br />Auaust 22, 2006 <br /> <br />06 - 391 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Sheriff Watson, 701 Crawford Street, explained contents of packages that he wanted <br />to submit to Council. He also wanted to clear up an issue regarding the taping of a <br />previous meeting. <br /> <br />2. Lynn Breckenridge, 448 Green Street, informed Council that a direction that they had <br />given to management with regards to placing a sign on the median on High <br />Street, after 8 months, had not been done. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to allow Breckenridge <br />Restaurant and Lounge to display its sign for thirty days and at the end of thirty days the <br />sign issue will be re-evaluated by the members of City Council, and was adopted by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Randall, D. Smith, R. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: Psimas <br /> <br />3. Patricia Edgerton, 4504 West Norfolk Road, spoke on concerns with regards to the <br />proposed Southeastern Public Service Authority / Covanta Trashport project and the <br />sound wall on 1-164. <br /> <br />4. Carl McDuffie, 813 Cavalier Boulevard, voiced his concern with the change in bus <br />routes by Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) in the City. <br /> <br />5. Bobby L. Smith, 701 Gust Lane, voiced his concern with the change in bus routes by <br />HRT in the City. <br /> <br />6. Michael Smith, 9625 Cape View Avenue, Norfolk, asked that a boundary be set, for <br />the safety of the children, to separate the playground at Simonsdale Elementary <br />School and the basketball court which is maintained by the City. He also voiced his <br />concern with the maintenance of the playground citing many occasions when trash <br />had to be removed from the area. <br /> <br />7. Julianna Baucant, 41 Bolling Road, asked that a boundary be set, for the safety of <br />the children, to separate the playground at Simonsdale Elementary School and the <br />basketball court which is maintained by the City.
