October 11= 1993 <br /> <br /> At the Public Hearing Meeting of the City Council held on <br />Monday, October 11, 1993, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. ~ebb, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. <br />Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, James C. Hawks, <br />Cameron C..Pitts, ~V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, <br />City Attorney, <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor King opened the meeting with prayer which was <br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> The Mayor called the meeting to order and welcomed all in <br />attendance. <br /> <br /> 93-384 - Public Hearing on use permit applications: <br /> (a) UP-93-09 DOWNTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD - Use permit application of <br /> Zion Baptist Church for church facilities at 633 <br /> High Street. <br /> <br /> Glenn Yates, 714 High Street, architect for the applicant, <br /> provided architectural information about the application. <br /> Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to concur <br /> with the recommendation of the Planning Cor~nission that <br /> UP-93-09 be approved on first reading and was adopted by <br /> unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> (b) UP-93-11 CRADOCK ~NEIGHBORHOOD Use permit application of <br /> Tender Years, Inc., for a residential care <br /> facility at 2313 Greenwood Drive. <br /> <br /> Pamela deLeon, 455 George Washington Highway, Chesapeake, spoke <br /> in favor of the application. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Epperson, to <br /> concur with the recommendation of the Planning Cor~mission that <br /> UP-93-11 be approved on first reading and was adopted by a vote <br /> of 4-3 (Clemons, Hawks, Webb). <br /> <br />On motion meeting was adjourned at <br /> <br />8:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Sr. Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
