<br /> This project is part of the City's shared development
<br />progrsan. The City has received the developer's share (50%) of
<br />the construction cos= for the improvements and sufficient funds
<br />remain from prior appropriations to complete the City's share
<br />(50%) of the project.
<br />
<br /> The low bidder has successfully completed previous projects
<br />for the City, therefore, the Director of Public Works recommends
<br />that a contract for the Base Bid and AlUernate No. I be awarded
<br />to the low bidder, Virtexco Corporation, in the amount of
<br />$31,492.76.
<br />
<br /> I concur with the Director of Public Works and recommend
<br />your approval of this item to award the contract to the lowest
<br />responsible bidder, Virtexco Corporation."

<br /> Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to award a
<br />contract to Virtexco Corporation for right-of-way improvements
<br />along Effingham Street, and was adopted by the following vote:

<br />Ayes: Clemons, Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb
<br />Nays: None
<br />
<br />93-461 - Letter from the City Manager recommending, adoption of a
<br />motion to transfer $18,275 from the Grants Contingency Account
<br />for the FY 1993-94 funding for a full-time support staff person
<br />to the Lead Poison Prevention Grant Team.
<br />
<br /> "The Portsmouth Health Department has been awarded funds to
<br />provide full time support staff to the Lead Poison Prevention
<br />Grant. These duties are now performed by a part time employee,
<br />with the hours restricted to 1500 per year.
<br />
<br /> The City would be reimbursed 100% through the grant from
<br />the State. There are no City matching funds required. I,
<br />therefore, recommend that you approve a motion to transfer
<br />$18,275 from the Grants Contingency Account for this program."
<br />
<br /> Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to transfer
<br />$18,275 for the FY 1993-94 funding for a full-time support staff
<br />person to the Lead Poison Prevention Grant Team, and was adopted
<br />by the following vote:
