January 23, 2001 Financial Impact: · Funds have been appropriated in the Fiscal Year 2001 budget and will need to be included in budgets for subsequent years. Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the following resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE RUNNYMEADE CORPORATION FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1725 GREEN STREET. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into a lease with the Runnymeade Corporation for property located at 1725 Green Street, by which agreement the City of Portsmouth will lease said property for a period of ten years, subject to appropriation of Council." Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst, Holley Nays: None 01 - 40 - Adoption of a motion to transfer $55,764 from the Grants Contingency Account for funding of a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Building Grant for FY 2000-01. This grant gives public libraries non-competitive monies for computer equipment, software, training and maintenance for the benefit of the community and staff of the library.
