April 25. 2006 - New Business - 06 - 189 - Boards and Commissions Vice Mayor Moody offered the following nominations: BOARD OF BUILDING CODE APPEALS Dan E. Griffin to be appointed for a four term ending August 31, 2009, replacing Lovell D. Davis. Carol A. Heart to fill an unexpired term ending August 31, 2006, replacing Arthur L. Gough Herman Terry to fill an unexpired term ending August 31,2007, replacing Raleigh G. Harsley. Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Smith, to close the nominations, and the above nominations were adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley Nays: None 06 - 190 - Items Submitted by Council Members '" Councilman Whitehurst informed citizens of the upcoming Notables Banquet, May 6, 2006, 7:00 p.m., at the Portsmouth Renaissance Hotel. He also made citizens aware of the March of Dimes Walk A-Thon the morning of May 6,2006. '" Vice Mayor Moody thanked City Clerk Debra White and her staff for doing a great job in coordinating the Boards and Commissions Retreat. '" Vice Mayor Moody thanked the Portsmouth Rotarians for their participation in the Paint Your Heart Out annual event. '" Councilwoman Randall gave kudos to Staff for enhancing the quality of life in Cavalier Manor by filling in the ditches. '" Councilman Smith thanked City Manager Oliver and his staff for all their hard work during the budget process. '" Councilman Heretick also thanked City Manager Oliver and his staff for all their hard work during the budget process. He also gave a special thanks to Chief Financial Officer Lance Wolff for his creativity and ingenuity during the process. '" Vice Mayor Moody also thanked staff for their hard work in producing the budget. '" Councilman Whitehurst also agreed that Staff did a great job in producing the budget and thanked them.
