<br />March 21. 2006 <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />06 - 128 - Adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an <br />easement to Columbia Gas of Virginia, along with such other documents as may be <br />necessary, to provide Columbia Gas an appropriate area to place a gas pipeline that <br />serves surrounding subdivisions and businesses in the Victory BoulevardlFairwood <br />Heights area. Vision Principle: Neighborhood and Community Transformation. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. It is necessary for Columbia Gas to place a gas pipeline located along Normandy <br />Street from Greenwood Drive to Water Lilly Road. <br />. The new easement would provide Columbia Gas an appropriate area to place a <br />gas pipeline that would serve the new subdivision of New Port. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. Financial Impact: There will be no financial impact as a result of placing the new <br />gas pipeline. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br />Adoption of a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an easement to <br />Columbia Gas of Virginia, along with such other documents as may be necessary, to <br />provide Columbia Gas an appropriate area to place a gas pipeline that serves <br />surrounding subdivisions and businesses in the Victory BoulevardlFairwood Heights <br />area. Vision Principle: Neighborhood and Community Transformation. <br /> <br />Next Steps following City Council Action: <br />. The City Manager will execute the Easement and any other necessary <br />documents to convey to Columbia Gas rights to the area needed for the placement of <br />the gas pipeline. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN <br />EASEMENT TO COLUMBIA GAS OF VIRGINIA FOR PLACEMENT OF A GAS <br />PIPELINE TO BE LOCATED ALONG NORMANDY STREET FROM GREENWOOD <br />DRIVE TO WATER LILLY ROAD. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is authorized to <br />execute an easement and any other necessary documents to Columbia Gas of Virginia <br />for the placement of a gas pipeline to be located along Normandy Street from <br />Greenwood Drive to Water Lilly Road to serve surrounding subdivisions and businesses <br />in the Victory BoulevardlFairwood Heights area." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br />
