<br />February 28. 2006 <br /> <br />MAYOR'S COMMITTEE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES <br /> <br />Jason Horning to be appointed for a three term ending June 30, 2006. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />James Ellis to fill an unexpired term ending December 31,2006, replacing Simonee <br />Thomas. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Ms. Psi mas, to close the nominations, <br />and the above nominations were adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />06 - 110 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />'" Vice Mayor Moody inquired of the City Manager James Oliver as to when copies of <br />the pay plan for the Fire Department, Police Department, and City employees would <br />be made available to the Council and the public. <br /> <br />'" Councilman Heretick asked that the City Manager look into whether or not the <br />Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) is receiving out of area trash dumping <br />by truck, what routes these trucks are taking and the number of trucks traveling <br />through the City per day. <br /> <br />'" Councilman Whitehurst wanted to inform citizens that he does not support out of <br />area trash dumping in Portsmouth. <br /> <br />'" Vice Mayor Moody informed citizens of the Graffiti Hotline and asked that this <br />information be made available to the public. <br /> <br />'" Councilwoman Randall asked that Deputy City Manager John Rowe give a report on <br />neighborhood quality. <br /> <br />'" Deputy City Manager Rowe gave a report at the request of Councilwoman Randall in <br />which he informed Council and citizens of the following projects: <br />. The City advertised for bids for the construction of drainage improvements in <br />Cavalier Manor. Advertisement for bids began February 26, 2006 and will <br />end March 23, 2006. <br />. Also, the City will launch a code enforcement sweep in Cavalier Manor <br />beginning in two weeks. In mid March, another sweep will be launched in the <br />Cradock neighborhood. <br />
