<br />February 14. 2006 <br /> <br />Next Steps following City Council Action: <br />. The City Manager will execute the Easement and any other necessary <br />documents to convey to Columbia Gas rights to the area needed for the replacement <br />main. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN EASEMENT <br />TO COLUMBIA GAS OF VIRGINIA FOR REPLACEMENT AND REROUTING OF A <br />PORTION OF A GAS MAIN AT THE BIDE A WEE GOLF COURSE. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is authorized, to <br />execute an easement and any other necessary documents to Columbia Gas of Virginia <br />for the replacement and rerouting of a portion of a gas main over and under the parking <br />lot at the Bide A Wee Golf Course in order to upgrade the existing main, which serves <br />surrounding neighborhoods and the golf course." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />06-87 <br /> <br />Adoption of a resolution to postpone the regularly scheduled City Council <br />Meeting of March 14, 2006 to March 21, 2006. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. Several members of City Council will be out of town attending a National League <br />of Cities Conference in Washington, D.C., and out of the country on personal business. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. As scheduled, the meeting of March 14, 2006 does not have a quorum, which <br />requires either the cancellation or postponement of this regularly scheduled meeting. <br />. Financial Impact: There is no financial impact on the City. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br />Adoption of a Resolution to postpone the regularly scheduled City Council Meeting of <br />March 14, 2006 to March 21, 2006. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br />. The City Clerk will provide appropriate notification of the change to the general <br />public. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"RESOLUTION RESCHEDULING THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 14, <br />2006 UNTIL MARCH 21, 2006. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that its <br />regularly scheduled meeting of March 14, 2006, be rescheduled until March 21, 2006, at <br />7:00 p.m." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br />
