Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, <br />P. Ward Robinett, Jr., William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager <br />Daniel M~ Stuck, City Attorney Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />01 - 45, The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, <br />February 13, 2001 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />in addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br />01 - 46 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br />1. Shea Terrace Elementary School <br /> <br />2. Property Exchange - VDOT/City of Portsmouth <br /> <br />01 - 47 - Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. RObinett, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344(A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss <br />or consider the following: <br /> <br /> First, the acquisition or sale of real property for a public purpose, as <br /> authorized by paragraph 3, with the subject properties being considered for <br /> acquisition by the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority. <br /> <br /> second, performance of employees, as authorized by paragraph 1; and <br /> <br /> third, appointments by City Council to boards and commissions, as authoriTed <br /> by paragraph 1. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1(D) of t~he Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> 2.
