283 <br /> <br />February 7, 1994 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting-of the City Council held on Monday, <br />February 7, 1994, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. <br />Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. <br />Hawks, Cameron C. Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart <br />E. Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br />94-37 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the'City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 1994, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. King, to go into <br />Executive Session pursuanu to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of <br />the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Co~unisslons <br />by the City Council as permitted under Subsection {A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition of <br />property for public use and use of publicly held real property <br />in the central portion of the City as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (3); <br /> <br /> (3) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by <br />staff pertaining to matters of actual litigation (Segal and FOP <br />cases) as permitted under Subsection (A) (7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Clemons <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying <br />that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information <br />Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Gloria O.
