December 14, 2004 <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Randall, to close the nominations, <br />and the above nomination was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Thomas T. Moody to be appointed for a four year term beginning April 1, 2005, and <br />ending December 31, 2008, replacing William H. Hargrove. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to close the nominations, <br />and the above nomination was adopted by a vote of 5-2. (Holley, Psimas) <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY/PPIC <br /> <br />James A. Overton to be reappointed for a four year term ending December 31, 2008. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to close the nominations, <br />and the above nomination was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Nathaniel Williams to be reappointed for a four year term ending December 31, 2008. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to close the nominations, <br />and the above nomination was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />AMERICAN WITH DISABILITIES COMMISSION <br /> <br />Sherry J. Warren to be reappointed for a three year term ending December 31, 2007. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to close the nominations, <br />and the above nomination was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />CRANEY ISLAND STUDY COMMISSION <br /> <br />Vice Mayor William E. Moody, Jr. to be appointed for a three year term. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Holley, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to close the nominations, <br />and the above nomination was adopted by vote of 6-0-1. (Moody) <br /> <br />04 - 485 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />~ Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Mr. Moody, that the City Manger be <br />authorized to identify and reprogram funds from the Fiscal Year 2005 Operating Budget <br />for the purpose of providing Sheriff personnel with a 3% salary adjustment to address <br />pay disparity with neighboring jurisdictions, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Councilman Smith spoke on continuing efforts of Council liaisons meeting with the <br /> School Board liaisons and their progress. <br /> <br /> Councilwoman Psimas spoke on Winter Wonderland and the wonderful season at <br /> High and Court Streets. Also, she thanked Valora Baskerville for an outstanding <br /> job with the Holiday Music Festival. <br /> <br /> Councilwoman Randall spoke on Christmas decorations in Mount Hermon Village. <br /> <br /> Councilman Smith recognized the attendance of Sherri Bailey, a School Board <br /> member and Herbert Mott, a former School Board member. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Moody announced the first Community Meeting at Brighton Elementary <br /> School, at7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2005. <br /> <br />04 - 486 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />There were no pending items. <br /> <br />04 - 487 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Kathleen Carlson, 116 Chowan Drive, spoke in support of Safety Town, Scout <br /> program and offered silk flowers for sale for Safety Town. <br /> <br /> <br />
