1 1 2 September 28~ 2004 <br /> <br /> - New Business - <br /> <br /> 04 - 372 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br /> Mr. Moody offered the following nominations: <br /> <br /> PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> <br /> Terry K. Morrison to be appointed for a four year term ending August 31,2008, <br /> replacing Diane P. Griffin. <br /> <br /> HOFFLER CREEK WILDLIFE PRESERVE <br /> <br /> Councilwoman Psimas was appointed as the Council Liaison. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to close the nominations. <br /> and the above nominations were adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 04 - 373 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br /> > Councilman Heretick spoke on the Judges Conference held at the Renaissance <br /> Portsmouth and Waterfront Hotel. <br /> <br /> 04 - 374 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br /> There were no pending items. <br /> <br /> 04 - 375 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br /> 1. Kathleen Carlson, 116 Chowan Drive, spoke on being excited about the City of <br /> Portsmouth, Police Academy, Neighborhood Academy and children savings pennie,, <br /> for Safety Town. <br /> <br /> 2. Joel Andre, 422 Mount Vernon Avenue, spoke on property at 660 Mount Vernon <br /> Avenue and major renovations and repair work, but scope of project exceeds repair <br /> level and should be considered as "new" construction and requires oversight as new <br /> construction. <br /> <br /> 3. Shannon Chance, 646 Mount Vernon Avenue, spoke on property at 660 Mount <br /> Vernon Avenue and asked Council to look at Sections 7-99, 7-107, 7-141 and <br /> 40-163 of the Building Code. <br /> <br /> 4. John Lifsey, 229 Mount Vernon Avenue, spoke on property at 660 Mount Vernon <br /> Avenue and has no problem if stop work order is involved. <br /> <br /> 5.
