June 22, 2004 Amanda T. Stallingswood to be appointed for a three year term ending June 30, 2007. MUSEUM AND FINE ARTS COMMISSION Robert A. Smith to be appointed for a three year term ending October 31, 2006, replacing Norma B. Pringleton. Alison B. Clifford to be appointed to fill an unexpired term ending October 31,2005, replacing Mary Evelyn Bartley. SENIOR SERVICES OF SOUTHEAST VIRGINIA Bill Murden to be appointed for a four year term ending June 30, 2008, replacing Wilford Lee Smith. Sarah L. Elam to be reappointed for a four year term ending June 30, 2008. SOCIAL SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION Angela M. Whitlock to be appointed for a four year term ending June 30, 2008, replacing Bernard Thomas. Jeanette P. Hubbard to be reappointed for a four year term ending June 30, 2008. Virginia Spencer to be reappointed for a four year term ending June 30, 2008. June F. Turner to be reappointed for a four year term ending June 30, 2008. WETLAND BOARD Peter Clifford to be appointed to fill an unexpired term ending May 31,2006, replacing Valerie K. Bliss. PARKS AND RECREATION Pieter A. VanDeGraaf to be reappointed for a three year term ending June 30, 2007. TIDEWATER COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD Dr. Richard Trumble to be reappointed for a four year term ending June 30, 2008. Motion by Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to close the nominations, and there being no further nominations, the above nominations were adopted by unanimous vote. 04 - 255 - Items Submitted by Council Members > Councilman Benn spoke on his terms with the School Board and the City Council. Also, he thanked the Mayor for his leadership. > Councilwoman Randall spoke on her first term in office and the rewarding experience she has had with the outgoing Council. Also, she requested at all future meetings when the City Manager's Report information is given, there be a brief explanation given by the City Manager on that item. > Vice Mayor Griffin thanked the citizens of Portsmouth, the Mayor and Council for the opportunity to serve as Vice Mayor. > Councilman Pitts thanked all the citizens of Portsmouth for the opportunity to be part of the challenge to take on leadership of the City of Portsmouth along with his colleagues. > Vice Mayor Griffin thanked Mr. McCoy for the job he has done for the City.
