June 22, 2004 <br /> <br /> > Councilman Moody thanked the outgoing members of Council for their public service <br /> to the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> > Councilwoman Randall thanked Mr. McCoy and wished him the best for the future. <br /> > Councilman Moody thanked Mr. McCoy and wished him the best for the future. <br /> <br />> Mayor Holley invited citizens to the Oath of Office Ceremony, Wednesday, June 30, <br /> 2004 at 5:00 p.m. Also, he invited citizens to the Reorganizatio~ meeting, Thursday, <br /> July 1, 2004 at 12:00 noon. <br /> <br /> Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, that the Mayor be authorized <br /> to execute a continuing employment contract with the City Attorney providing one yea <br /> severance pay and other reasonable provisions for a contract of this type, and aisc <br /> obtaining a long-term commitment of the City Attorney to continue providing lega <br /> services for the City, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 03 - 203 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Helen Person, 600 Rutter Street Apt. B read a letter from the Portsmouth <br /> Redevelopment and Housing Authority concerning Westbury on the following <br /> concerns: the proximity of the mailboxes; no landscaping around rental units; no <br /> water spigots on the outside of the complexes; the provision of play areas and <br /> equipment for the children residing in this complex. <br /> <br />2. Edward D. Smith, 3143 Steding Way, requested Council's assistance in finding a <br /> way to allow him to construct an enclosed porch on his property located in the <br /> Chesapeake Bay preservation area. <br /> <br />3. Peter Baar, 111 High Street, thanked the Council for the professionalism g~ven to the <br /> Flea Market from Mr. McCoy. <br /> <br /> On motion, meeting adjourned at 8:56 p.m. <br /> <br />Senior Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />Dr. James W.
