Dennis Russell, 10 Crawford Parkway, spoke in opposition to the boat tax. 20. Michael Whitley 104 Mimosa Road, spoke in opposition to the boat tax. 21. Don Comer, 3927 Oak Drive, Chesapeake, spoke in support of funding for Port,' Events. 22. Betty Hudgins, 100 Swimming Point Road, spoke in support of funding for schools. 23.Jean H. Shackelford, 2437 Sterling Point Drive, spoke in support of funding fo schools. 04 - 209 - Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Close( Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711(A)(1) of the Code of Virginia, t( discuss or consider the following: personnel matters. The subject matter of the meeting includes the performance of individual pubii( ~ffici~iS ~f the City. The purpose of the meeting is to permit confidential discussion of matters whic[ are inappropriate for public discussion. The motion was adopted by unar~imous vote. Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Sectio 2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meetin requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information, Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by whic the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered the meeting by the City Council.
