Hubbard to fill an unexpired term ending June 30, 2004, replacing Wayne F. <br />Potrafka. <br /> <br />COMMISSION OF ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW CRADOCK/TRUXTUN/OLDE TOWNE <br /> <br />Kirk Berkley to be reappointed for a three year term ending March 31,2007. <br /> <br />Kathleen Bliss to be reappointed for a three year term ending March 31,2007. <br /> <br />Saundra A. Shuler to be reappointed for a three year term ending March 31,2007. <br /> <br />Sara Steele to be reappointed for a three year term ending March 31, 2007. <br /> <br />SENIOR SERVICES OF SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA BOARD <br /> <br />Wade L. Preddy to be reappointed for a four year term ending March 31,2008. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to close the nominations, <br />and there being no further nominations, the above nominations were adopted by <br />unanimous vote. <br /> <br />> Councilman Benn appealed to citizens to contact the Office of the City Clerk to get <br /> an application to serve on Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />04 - 101 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />> Councilwoman Randall spoke on the pictures taken by Mr. Toler of the annual <br /> observance of the Buffalo Riders in recognition of the Buffalo Soldiers who served in <br /> the U. S. 9th and 10th Calvary. The observance was held Saturday, February 21, <br /> 2004. <br /> <br />03 - 102 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br />1. <br /> <br />J. Brewer Moore, 3008 Bobby Jones Drive, spoke on the approval of Bill HJ142 to <br />study the consolidation of the Cities of Norfolk and Portsmouth. <br /> <br />Susan Smith, 860 Greenbriar Circle, Suite 152, Chesapeake, announced <br />Portsmouth Walk America, Sunday, May 2, 2004. <br /> <br />Saint Elmo Crawford, 88 Bainbridge Avenue, spoke in support of higher education <br />and Senate Bill 30 that will provide more money for public schools and higher <br />education. <br /> <br />Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 363 Middle Street, revisited the idea of restoring civil rights <br />to those who have served time for felonies and recommended that it be included in <br />the City's legislative package. <br /> <br />Saundra Shuler, 81 Hobson Street, spoke on the City's need to promote citizen <br />involvement in the State Legislature with trips to Richmond. <br /> <br />Martin Smith-Rodden, 1731 Barron Street, spoke on the closure of the Forensic <br />Nurse Examining Program at Maryview Hospital. <br /> <br /> <br />
